Wii Fit Plus – 10/05

Oct
6

Finally.  Finally Wii Fit updated their game, and made it a whole lot better.  Nintendo’s new game Wii Fit Plus, is extremely better than the original.

For only $20, you get 15 new games, customizable routines, and even your dog or baby as an Avatar.

I have completed one workout, and it was great.  The best part is the routines – choosing which area on your body you want to work on, and then doing 3 yoga or strength training moves to get the work out completed.  I definitely like how you can determine how much time you want to spend on working out, and it will suggest a routine for you.  Below is my first time back on the dusty Wii Board, explaining what I did, and how I felt.

BMI: 24.53 Weight: 191
Initial Body Test – Balance: Left foot 48.5% Right foot 51.5%

Ultimate Test: 33.79 seconds
Record: 12.94 *set back in February

Workout -

  • Life Style (Shoulders and Lower Back)
  • Relax
  • Tummy
  • Leaner Mii
  • Mind and Body
  • Lotus Focus

How I felt -

  • didn’t sweat
  • little sore on routines
  • still have good balance
  • doing the yoga for my back hurt, but felt good

I recommend getting Wii Fit Plus.  It costs less than a months worth of gym memberships, and can be done in your living room.

Mario Kart – Love Song

Sep
1

Apparently this song has been out since November of 2008; with 3 million views, I’m not sure how I missed it.  So here it is now.  (Oh, and I dedicate this song to Bethany)

V1:
You be my princess
I’ll be your toad
I’ll follow behind you
on rainbow road
Protect you from red shells
wherever we go
I promise.

V2:
Noone will touch us
if we pick up a star
If you spin out
you can ride in my car
When we slide together
we generate sparks
in our wheels and our hearts

Chorus:
The finish line
is just around the bend
I’ll pause this game
so our love will never end
Let’s go again

V3:
The blue shell is coming
so I’ll go ahead
If you hang behind
it’ll hit me instead
but never look back
cause I’m down but not dead
I’ll catch up to you

Bridge:
Don’t worry about
Bowser or DK
Eat this glowing mushroom
and they’ll all fade away

Chorusx2

to the mushroom cup
and the flower cup
and the star cup
and the reverse cup

Xbox Live: Now with Twitter and Facebook

Aug
27

Really? Do we really need another avenue of Twitter and Facebook to become available?  We already use them on our desktops, laptops, netbooks, and mobile phones. Is it really necessary for us to update our friends/family/CELEBRITIES that we are sitting on our couches and Lay-Z-Boys, with our little headsets in, pwning n00bs at Halo 3?

There seem to have been some confusion on which subscribers could access Twitter/Facebook.  A Microsoft representative has clarified to Joystiq:

Facebook and Twitter on Xbox Live will be free to Gold members, with a free trial period also available for Silver members

Microsoft, please keep working on Project Natal.  Leave Twitter and Facebook along for now.

BlizzCon 2009 Announcements

Aug
23

BlizzCon 2009, a giant E3-like convention put on by Blizzard Entertainment to showcase upcoming titles, started this weekend and includes a live performance by Ozzy Osbourne himself.  Already there have been some surprising announcements that we can all look forward to.

New expansion for World of Warcraft called Cataclysm which includes two new races, Goblin and Worgen werewolf.  They’ve also upped the level cap to 85.  Also announced is a new class for the upcoming Diablo III, the Monk along with the three previously announced classes the Barbarian, Which Doctor, and Wizard.  I’ve logged countless hours playing Diablo 2 back in the day, I’m sure I’m not the only one who can’t wait for its release.

Fable 3 Announced – late 2010

Aug
21

Peter Molyneux, genius behind Fable and Fable 2, has announced at GamesCom that they are working on the third installment of the game set to release in late 2010. If you own an Xbox and haven’t played Fable 2 yet, I highly suggest picking it up. Say goodbye to your social life for a couple weeks though. Check out the teaser trailer below.

Don’t Buy Madden!

Aug
20

Developer Raven Software’s new FPS Wolfenstein, which is set to release within the week, has gone with an interesting advertising approach.  According to Manveer Heir’s Twitter page if the game outsells EA’s Madden 10 in August, he’ll pay for your game.  Don’t forget to keep your receipt though, if by some miracle Madden 10 is a flop.  I wouldn’t count on it though.
